PERSONALITY:
Ashley is very determined to be a good Pokémon trainer and Sailor Guardian. She shows a lot of sympathy towards Pokémon, usually helping and befriending Pokémon she meets on her long journey. She doesn't like trainers who mistreat Pokémon such as Damian and Shamus. She is a role model to many people such as May, Dawn, N, and Serena. Ashley never changes her strategy of all-out attacking and using various Moves to defeat other Pokémon. Ashley is generally kind, compassionate, and brave, but can be stubborn, hot-headed, short-tempered, impatient, cocky, reckless, and impulsive at times.
Ashley does fear losing anyone she's really close to, her friends and family, but fears losing her Pokémon family even more, due to the many times Team Rocket try to steal her Pokémon, also she fears of putting everyone she cares about in danger. Ashley also fears that her Pokémon would leave her the way Pikachu almost did to her, after Team Rocket tried turning Pikachu against her when she had amnesia in Hoenn, but didn't hold any grudge against her best friend due to knowing that it wasn't his fault, but the other reason why Ashley fears her Pokémon would leave her is that she didn't meet their expectation or wasn't strong enough for them. Because of her fears, Ashley sometimes doubts her Pokémon potential which also effects her faith and trust in them as well, especially when some of them display a unique kind of power in their strengths, shown in Sinnoh with her Infernape's Blaze ability, in the XYZ series with her Greninja Ash-Greninja form and in Alola when her Lycanroc goes into a red eye state. Ashley at one point really let her fear of losing her Pokémon or having them leave her get the better of her which caused her to almost lose herself in the process, shown in the XYZ series. However, Ashley does put fear aside to help her Pokémon become stronger which helps her get over her fears also because of it she was able to help the ones with a rare ability perfect their true power.
Since entering the Kalos region, Ashley has demonstrated much greater maturity and level-headiness; both in and out of battles as she continues her journey to be a Pokémon Master. So far, the only Pokémon Leagues she has won are the Orange League in the Orange Archipelago. Since entering the Alola region, Ashley is a lot more enthusiastic than she was in the Kalos region, while at the same time kept her determination and her love for Pokémon.
Ashley has a strong sense of justice to assist Officer Jenny, the Pokémon Rangers and the Police for their mission. She hated all source of evil organizations, such as Team Rocket, Team Aqua, Team Magma, Team Galactic, Team Plasma, Team Flare and Team Skull, and Pokémon Poachers such as Captain Crook, Iron-Masked Marauder, Rico, J, and other poachers, because they steal Pokémon from people or the wild and doing bad stuff to them. She would risk her own life to protect Pokémon and defeat criminals to put an end to their schemes.
Ashley is interested to have Gym battles against Gym Leaders to earn Gym Badges to participate the Pokémon League. Ashley also shown interest to Battle Frontier to battle Frontier Brains to Symbols. In Alola, Ashley decided to participate the Trials to earn Z-Crystals to use a Z-Move. Eventually she won the Alola League and is currently the Alola League Champion.

- CHARACTER'S FAMILY -
MOTHER'S NAME (Optional): Delia Hanako Ketchum
- CHARACTER'S HISTORY -
GOALS/MISSION: To be a Pokemon Master and a great Super Heroine
PAST HISTORY:
Pre-Journey:
When Ashley Ketchum was a little girl, she was enrolled in Professor Oak's Pokémon Summer Camp where she would learn about the basics of Pokemon and being a trainer once she gets older. One day, a young girl named Serena, who was also enrolled, got lost in a forest while trying to look for her group and injured her knee after a Poliwag startled her. But at the very same moment, Ashley, who was looking for the Poliwag, arrived and found her. She wrapped a clean, blue handkerchief with a PokeBall on each corner around her wounded knee to brace it. But she couldn't get herself up due to the pain, so Ashley lent her her hand and helped her stand up, guiding her out of the forest and taking her back to the campsite.
Ashley also told Serena that she was actually a girl named Ashley. Ashley was never one to wear girly clothes that much and not really a fan of girly things like shopping fashion, make up or perfume. Until she got to Alola she always wore baggy male clothes, which is why she is often mistaken for a boy. Besides her Mom, Professor Oak, the Nurse Joys and Officer Jennies, and most of the Gym Leaders; Gary and Serena are the only ones at this time that know Ashley is a girl.
Original Series
Pokémon: Indigo League
Years later after attending Pokémon Summer Camp, Ashley started her Pokémon journey when she had just turned ten years old. However, she overslept and when she got to the Professor's Lab, there were no more Starter Pokémon left. The Professor had one Pokémon left, but he said the Pokémon wasn't very friendly and released Pikachu. Pikachu disliked Ashley straight away and shocked her with its Thundershock attack. (This marks the start of her journey with Pikachu.) Later, Pikachu starts to trust Ashley. Upon challenging various Gyms, Ashley started finding traveling companions such as Brock and Misty. On her journey she regularly encountered the wacky trio Jessie, James and Meowth of Team Rocket, who kept trying to (and still try to) steal Pikachu. She finished in the Top 16 in the Indigo League Competition. During her journey she participated in a Pokemon race, was involved in a movie, got sucked into cyberspace and helped with the Moltres flame. Before heading to the Orange Islands, she picked up the GS Ball from Professor Ivy and bade goodbye to Brock who'd decided to stay with her.
Pokémon: Adventures on the Orange Islands
During this time, Ashley was sent to the Orange Islands by Professor Oak on an errand to retrieve the mysterious GS Ball as the transporter cannot send it to Oak's lab. Ashley found out that there were Gyms in the Orange Islands and decided to challenge them, winning a trophy for beating the Gym Leaders. During her time in the Orange Islands, Ashley gained a new travelling companion in Tracey Sketchit, a "Pokemon Watcher", who observes Pokemon in their natural habitats and draws them in his sketchbook, and caught new Pokémon, Snorlax and Lapras, as well. She battled the Orange Crew in a style of battling much different than what she was used to. Eventually she battled Drake and became the next Orange League Champion. Upon Ashley's return to his lab with the GS Ball, Professor Oak couldn't open it either and asked Ashley to deliver it to his associate Kurt in Azalea Town in the Johto region, where there are also Gyms for the Johto League. Brock returned and Tracey remained behind to help Professor Oak at his lab. Team Rocket tried to catch Pikachu again, but they were stopped by Gary.
Pokémon: The Johto Journeys
Ashley heard that there was a region called Johto and traveled there to find and catch new Pokemon unseen in Kanto. She battled the Gym Leaders there and caught the three Starter Pokémon, just as she'd done in Kanto. Brock returned and left Professor Ivy (for unknown reasons) and Tracey remained at Professor Oak's Lab. During this season, Ashley won two badges for the Johto League, by facing Falkner of the Violet Gym and Bugsy of the Azalea Town Gym. She also catches a Shiny Noctowl, had another battle with Misty and said goodbye to her Charizard as she left it at the Charicific Valley so it could become stronger.
Pokémon: Johto League Champions
Ashley won three more badges, but was delayed from having her sixth Gym Battle as the Gym Leader was preoccupied with caring for an ill Electric Pokemon, Ampharos, that fueled the lighthouse's power. Determined to get her Gym Battle, Ashley traveled over to Cianwood City to get the medicine needed for Ampharos. Along the way she meets Whitney, Morty, Jasmine and Chuck, along with some new friends like Sakura, an aspiring Trainer and one of the 5 Kimono Sisters and reunites with Casey, whose Chikorita evolved into Bayleef. After her Gym Battle with Chuck, Ashley and her mates traveled to the Whirl Islands on Chuck's suggestion to take part in the Whirl Cup Competition, a tournament for Water-type Pokémon.
Pokémon: Master Quest
During this season, Ashley finally collected the remaining three badges to enter the Johto League by beating Jasmine, Pryce and Clair. She also met Lance and stopped Team Rocket's latest scheme at the Lake of Rage and brought a Larvitar back to its mother. In the Johto League, she battled her old rival Gary and finally defeated him, bringing their long rivalry to an end, then fought Harrison from the Hoenn region, who had a Blaziken, a Fire-Type Pokemon Ashley had never seen before. To face it, Ashley chose her trusty Charizard: the two Fire-Types fought fiercely, but ultimately Charizard fainted and Ashley lost. (However, Charizard managed to wound Blaziken badly enough to prevent Harrison from using it in his next match, which led to his defeat.) Ashley then decided to travel to the Hoenn region, but sadly both of her friends had to return home and thus would not be traveling with her this time.
Advanced Series
Pokémon: Advanced
Starting a new journey, Ashley received new clothes from her mom, trading her familiar button-up shirt for a sleeveless hoodie, her green gloves for black ones and got a new cap. Breaking with what she'd done previously when she left for Johto, Ashley left the rest of her team with Professor Oak and Tracey, intent on capturing new Pokemon in Hoenn, taking only Pikachu, her Starter, with her from home - the idea being to recapture the feeling of first leaving Pallet Town as a new Trainer. Upon arrival, she gained two new traveling companions in May, a beginner Trainer starting out on her journey with no clue what to do, and her younger brother Max, who has an extensive, impressive knowledge of Pokemon that far exceeds his years. Brock also returned, having finished his errands at home. Ashley won her first three badges by the end of the season: the Stone Badge from Roxanne of the Rustboro Gym, the Knuckle Badge from a rematch with Brawly from the Dewford Gym, and the Dynamo Badge from Wattson of the Mauville Gym.
Ashley also revealed her true nature to May. However, to keep up appearances, she asked May to keep it a secret from Brock and Max, which she did.
Pokémon: Advanced Challenge
Ashley was eager to challenge more Gyms but was held up by May as she decided to be a Pokémon Coordinator. Ashley encountered both Team Magma and Team Aqua, two villainous crime syndicates occupying the Hoenn region for the first time. Ashley also won the Heat Badge from Flannery, the Balance Badge from Norman, May and Max's father, and a Feather Badge from Winona.
Pokémon: Advanced Battle
Before winning her last few badges, Ashley was caught in a clash between Teams Magma and Aqua as they unleashed the legendary Pokémon Groudon and Kyogre to reshape the world. Due to Pikachu's connection with Groudon, both teams were stopped and the legendary Pokemon returned to rest. After that, Ashley beat the twin Gym Leaders Tate and Liza for the Mind Badge and Grand Festival winner Juan for the Rain Badge. Prior to entering the Hoenn League, Ashley declined an offer from Professor Oak to trade in her current Pokémon with her previous captures on the grounds that her new team had earned it for themselves. She gained two new rivals in Morrison and Tyson, the former she would beat, but the latter she would lose to. She placed among the Top 8.
Returning to Kanto with Brock, May and Max, Ashley was invited to partake in the Battle Frontier, battling Frontier Brains for Frontier Symbols. Upon encountering the first Frontier Brain, Factory Head Noland and his Articuno, Ashley left her friends for a quick bit while the Factory Head took Max and Pikachu up in his airplane, telling them "I had to make a phone call." Later that night as the gang was watching Noland's Pokémon eat dinner, they speculated which of Noland's Pokémon Ashley would challenge: Max guessed Venusaur, May guessed Rhyhorn, but Ashley, aiming high, boldly decided on Articuno. Wondering which of Ashley's Pokémon she would use against a Legendary, the gang was excited when they saw his pick; Ashley had gone straight to the top and brought in the big guns, calling in Charizard from the Charicific Valley to take on the Ice/Flying-type head-to-head. Despite the Type advantage being set against it, Noland's Articuno demonstrated its ability to quickly recover after taking direct hits from Charizard's Flamethrower and DragonBreath attacks and managed to gain an advantage over the fiery behemoth with an Ice Beam to the wingtip and repeatedly combining its Ice Beam and Water Pulse attacks, the latter move being strong enough to counter Charizard's newest move: Overheat. Ultimately though, Charizard managed to withstand Articuno's Steel Wing attack, and as the Legendary Bird came in for one last strike, it grabbed its wings in midair, stopping the attack before it could connect and topped it off with its signature Seismic Toss, knocking out Articuno for the win and earning Ashley the Knowledge Symbol.
Pokémon: Battle Frontier
Ashley battled all of the remaining Frontier Brains and earned their Frontier Symbols. The last Frontier Brain however, Pyramid King Brandon, proved to be more difficult for Ashley to defeat; Their first official battle saw Brandon's Registeel defeating Ashley's Torkoal in spite of a new move it learned. For their rematch, which would be four-on-four, Ashley took a "back to your roots" approach, once again calling in Charizard but also this time bringing in Bulbasaur and Squirtle to reunite her trio of Kanto Starters. Putting them together with Pikachu, Ashley formed a team of aces from her early days: pitting the four aces against Brandon's Dusclops, Ninjask, Solrock and Regice, she finally claimed victory and the final Frontier Symbol - the Brave Symbol - completing the set and winning the Battle Frontier. After her victory, Scott offered Ashley the position of Frontier Brain when one of them retired but she declined, opting instead to continue her journey. Before saying goodbye to May, Ashley competed against her in the Terracotta Pokemon Contest, their match ending in a tie. There was only one ribbon and they couldn't decide who to give it to. Ashley had her Sceptile use Leaf Blade to cut the ribbon in half, choosing to split it with May before they all parted ways. Returning home, Ashley met up with Gary again and saw the latter's new Electivire. Gary informed Ashley about the region of Sinnoh, to which she immediately decided to travel next on his journey.
Diamond and Pearl Series
Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl
Departing for Sinnoh, Ashley once again left her previous captures at Professor Oak's laboratory, with the exception of her Aipom who'd snuck along. After arriving in Sinnoh by boat and reuniting with Brock, she gained yet another new traveling companion in Dawn, a confident girl interested in following in her mother's footsteps as a Pokemon Coordinator. She had decided that Dawn needed to know her true nature. Of course, Dawn sort of sensed something off about the shorter than average 13 year old boy with the higher than normal voice. She also noticed how Ashley would scratch her chest from time-to-time. One day Dawn found out that Ashley was binding her chest and had been since she had started her journey in Hoenn. After receiving new clothes from her mother in the mail, Ashley gained a new rival in a Trainer named Paul. Later in the season, Ashley misses meeting Team Galactic due to moving on with her journey too soon. She won her first two Sinnoh Gym Badges: a Coal Badge from Roark and a Forest Badge from Gardenia. Ashley encountered Pokemon Hunter J, who temporarily kidnapped Pikachu by turning it into stone. Ashley's first Sinnoh capture was a Starly which evolved into Staravia, and a Turtwig. His final Sinnoh acquisition came when he adopted Paul's Chimchar by the end of the season.
Pokémon: DP Battle Dimension
Continuing her journey with Dawn and Brock, Ashley continued battling and earning badges while Dawn continued to earn contest ribbons. They also encountered Team Galactic and tried to stop them from stealing the Adamant Orb. During this time, Ashley earns her fifth Gym Badge. For most of the season, Ashley had to wait for Gym Leader Fantina to return to her Gym in order to challenge her. Ashley reunited with May during the Wallace Cup and took part as a coordinator once again (per Wallace's request). Also during this time, Ashley had revealed that she had been binding her chest since she set out for Hoenn. May also found out that Ashley was built like her. However to keep up appearances with Brock, she continued to dress like a boy with chest bindings and all. Late one night with Pikachu, she saw the spirit of Azelf rise out of the lake the contest was being held at. She tied with Maylene but earned a Cobble Badge from her and defeated both Crasher Wake and Fantina for the Fen and Relic Badges. She also acquired a new rival in Barry, a somewhat clumsy boy who insists on fining people. Ashley acquired a few more Pokemon during this season; at the suggestion of Zoe, she traded her Aipom for Dawn's Buizel, the only trade so far she hasn't reversed; her Turtwig evolved into Grotle; and she caught a Gligar which became a Gliscor.
Pokémon: DP Galactic Battles
Continuing her journey in Sinnoh, Ashley managed to beat Byron, winning the Mine Badge and Candice, winning the Icicle Badge. Along the trip to Sunyshore City, Ashley and her friends encounter International Policeman Looker and were recruited to help stop the plans of Team Galactic as the three of them were chosen to share a bond with the three Lake Spirit Pokémon, during which Brock managed to find Uxie. Managing to find Team Galactic in the middle of creating a new universe with the captive Lake Trio controlling Palkia and Dialga, Ashley, Dawn and Brock freed the trio and Team Galactic was arrested while their leader vanished into the collapsing new world, effectively disbanding Team Galactic. At the end of the season, Ashley caught herself a Gible which was learning Draco Meteor.
Pokémon: DP Sinnoh League Victors
After the Team Galactic incident, Ashley entered the Sinnoh League after beating Volkner and earning the Beacon Badge. She also reunited with Jasmine from the Olivine Gym before heading to Lily-of-the-Valley. Taking a different approach in this League than she did in Hoenn, Ashley combined her previous captures with her current Pokemon to form well-balanced teams of new and old. The Sinnoh League was one of the hardest and most intense Leagues she ever competed in, as she had rivals Paul and Barry to compete with, and a mysterious trainer who joined with the Legendary Pokémon Darkrai. She battled against most of her rivals save for Barry, who battled Paul and lost, so Ashley's next match was against Paul.
The battle was intense as Paul showed Pokémon that he didn't normally use while Ashley had reassembled her team of six from their earlier battle at Lake Valor. The fight came down to Paul's Electivire and Ashley's Infernape. Despite taking heavy damage, Infernape won the match for Ashley with its ability, Blaze. After defeating Paul, Ashley faced an opponent other Trainers in the League dreaded to face as he was hard to defeat: the Trainer with the Darkrai: Tobias. After losing a couple of Pokemon to it, Ash was able to defeat Tobias' Darkrai with Sceptile and even knocked out Tobias' Latios with Pikachu. However, as the rest of Ashley's Pokémon had fainted, she was eliminated. She reached the Top 4 - the farthest she'd ever gotten in any Pokemon League, at the time - and was the only one of Tobias' opponents to defeat two of his Pokemon, let alone his Darkrai. After the Sinnoh League, Ashley bade farewell to Dawn as she wished to continue entering contests, and also parted ways with Brock, her oldest friend and longest-running traveling companion for the final time, as Brock now wished to become a Pokémon Doctor.
Black and White Series
Pokémon: Black & White
At home in Pallet Town, Ashley received new clothes and was invited along with her mother by Professor Oak to take a trip to the far away Unova region for a scientific expedition. Upon arrival, a more formidable Team Rocket - no longer fooling around and acting in a more serious capacity - once again tried to capture Pikachu. This was prevented by the timely intervention of Zekrom, one of Unova's two Legendary Pokemon. Zekrom caused a storm that scared away Team Rocket and temporarily knocked Pikachu out.
Arriving at Professor Juniper's Lab, Ashley and Pikachu. During the Don Battle Tournament
Ashley encountered a new rival named Trip, an insolent boy with an intolerant attitude towards Trainers from Kanto. Ashley battled Trip, but lost as Pikachu's Electric attacks had been temporarily disabled from the encounter with Zekrom. Ashley later decided to go out on a new quest to win the Unova League. After leaving on her new journey, Ashley gained new traveling companions in Iris, who she never revealed her true nature to, an up-and-coming Dragon Master with keen eyesight, and Cilan, one of the three Gym Leaders of the Striaton City Gym who utilized Grass-Type Pokemon and also a Pokemon Connoisseur. Ashley continued her inadvertent tradition of catching all three Starter Pokemon of a region, something not done since Johto: She adopted an Oshawott that had snuck away from Professor Juniper's lab and an abandoned Tepig whose Trainer no longer wanted it. Last but not least, Ashley caught a very strong Snivy which acts like the mother of her team. Ashley won the Trio Badge, Basic Badge and Insect Badge. As the season continued, she acquired a mysterious egg which later hatched into her Scraggy.
Pokémon: BW Rival Destinies
Continuing on her journey through Unova with Iris and Cilan, after they stopped Team Rocket from stealing Pokémon from the Nimbasa Pokémon Center, Ashley and co. met up with Bianca and encountered both the Gym Leader Elesa and Bianca's father. After he allowed both his daughter and Ashley to continue their respective journeys, Ashley battled Elesa and won the Bolt Badge. Then she had the honor of meeting Alder, the Unova League Champion. She also saved Unova from being torn apart by Tornadus and Thundurus by summoning Landorus. Following this, Ashley had a Gym Battle with Clay after getting him some Revival Herbs. During the battle Ashley's Roggenrola evolved into a Boldore; using its ability, Sturdy, Ashley defeated Clay, earning her the Quake Badge. After that she helped Bianca with her newly evolved Escavailer and met Cedric Juniper. She managed to catch the Krokorok that followed her, adding it to her team. Finally, she had a Gym battle with Skyla, during which her Tranquill evolved into Unfezant and managed to beat her, winning the Jet Badge. She participated in a race to the top of Celestial Tower and came in a close second losing to Stephan, as well as the Donamite tournament and ranked Semi-finalist. She also confronted Tepig's original trainer, Shamus, during which Tepig evolved into Pignite. She also had to endure a harsh training session from Brycen, which paid off as she won the Freeze Badge. Her plans to go to Opelucid City were on hold as she found out the Gym was closed and had to go to Virbank City instead, where she battled Roxie and won her final badge, the Toxic Badge. She also met and befriended a Meloetta and reunited with her old friend Dawn from her time in Sinnoh and stopped Team Rocket's latest plot involving Meloetta. Along the way she met Cameron who faced off against Marlon, the Humilau City Gym Leader.
She never revealed her true nature to Iris, Cilan, or Cameron.
Pokémon: BW Adventures in Unova
Ashley finally arrived at and competed in the Unova League, placing in the Top 8 as she'd done before. She made a new friend, N and learned about Team Plasma and another Legendary Pokémon, Reshiram. With N's help, Ashley was able to stop Team Plasma. With her adventures in Unova behind her, it was time for her to head home again: fortunately for Ashley, Professor Juniper scored her boarding tickets to the Queen Decolore which traversed through the Decolore Islands. Along the way she met Alexa, a reporter from the Kalos region and briefly reunited with Clair from the Blackthorn Gym to help find a Shiny Druddigon. After arriving in Vermilion City, she parted ways with Iris and Cilan as the two were headed to Johto, and returned home to Pallet Town once again with Alexa. Ashley was also reunited with her Charizard and Gliscor permanently.
With the exception of Cilan, all the Gym Leaders in Unova knew Ashley was actually a girl, so did Alexa .
Adventures in Kalos:
In the XY series, Ashley traveled to the Kalos region with Alexa, first visiting Lumiose City in Kalos, where she parted ways with the journalist and tried to challenge the Lumiose Gym at Prism Tower. She was forcibly ejected from the tower when the computerized security system, later revealed to be the Clembot, found out that she didn't have any Kalos Badges. She was rescued by Clemont and Bonnie, who started to travel with her after she calmed down a rampaging Garchomp at the top of Prism Tower with the assistance of a brave Froakie. After the incident was resolved, the Froakie allowed itself to be captured by Ashley. In her first gym battle, Ashley won her first Kalos Badge, the Bug Badge, after defeating the Santalune Gym Leader, Viola.
The group was joined by Serena, who still remembered Ashley rescuing her in her childhood and decided to start her own journey to reunite with her, although she initially did not remember the two of them meeting. Ashley and Serena learn that Clemont was actually the Lumiose Gym Leader, who was exiled from his own Gym by his own invention. They help Clemont face Clembot, and after the issue was resolved, Clemont and Ashley promised to battle after Ashley fulfilled the original conditions set by Clembot (even if it was no longer necessary), to earn four Badges. With that, the group set off on their journey again. During their travels, they occasionally met the ninja boy Sanpei, whose presence always led to a progress in Froakie's (and later Frogadier's and Greninja's) strength.
As they traveled, the group started to learn the secrets of Mega Evolution after meeting Professor Sycamore and Diantha.
For a short time, Ashley traveled with the Shalour Gym Leader Korrina to discover more about Mega Evolution and Mega Stones.
Ashley and her friends later attended Professor Sycamore's Pokemon Summer Camp, where they met the trio of Shauna, Tierno, and Trevor, with whom the group started a friendly rivalry with. In Ashley's case, her rivalry would mainly be with Trevor and Tierno as Serena and Shauna pursued Pokemon Showcases. Ashley thought about doing Pokemon Showcases as well as Pokemon Gym Battles, but thought better of it when she realized if she did so, she would have to reveal herself as a girl. At the time, Ashley was only comfortable with Serena knowing her secret; so she decided not to pursue Pokemon Showcases at the time.
During their journey, Ashley caught a lost and traumatized Goomy, which she raised into a Sliggoo, and later, a powerful Goodra. After earning her fourth Gym Badge, Ashley eventually faced Clemont in their promised Gym Battle, and won with Goodra's help, gaining her fifth Badge. Later, Ashley and friends come across Goodra's old home, where they discovered it was taken over by a Florges and her companions. After saving Goodra's swamp from Team Rocket while simultaneously solving the issue concerning Florges, Ash left Goodra in the wetlands so it could act as the protector of its swamp and the Pokemon living in it. Sometime afterwards, when Ashley reached Laverre City to challenge the Gym, she made a new rival in Sawyer, a novice trainer hailing from Hoenn. Along the way, Ashley would also support Serena in her quest to become Kalos Queen, and gave her some helpful advice when she eventually lost, telling her that losing is simply another step towards victory.
Later in their journeys, Ashley and friends reached Anistar City and, together with Professor Sycamore, they met the Psychic Gym Leader, Olympia. She revealed her Frogadier's past as a Froakie from before meeting Ashley and a glimpse of Frogadier's, her friend's, Sycamore's, Team Rocket's, and her own fate, indicating that they would all play a vital role in Kalos's future. Ashley challenged her to a Double Battle, which she won using Frogadier and Talonflame.
Shortly after, the group came across a mysterious Pokémon, dubbed Squishy by Bonnie, who was being pursued relentlessly by the villainous organization, Team Flare, prompting the group to put it under their own protective custody. Some time afterwards, Ashley and her friends got involved in a conflict in Sanpei's home town, which led to Frogadier evolving into Greninja, as well as achieving Bond Phenomenon for the first time. During another confrontation with Team Flare in Terminus Cave, Ashley learned Bond Phenomenon came at a cost, as she was able to share Greninja's senses, but also share its pain.
Later on, Ashley met up with Alain, who became intrigued by Greninja's Bond Phenomenon and requested to battle Ashley. Ashley put up a decent fight, but eventually lost. After her loss against Alain, Ashley and Greninja began training to perfect Greninja's new form. Ashley and Greninja later had a rematch with Alain and a battle against Diantha, during the latter Greninja even managed to reach its final Ash-Greninja form. Despite their training, the two were unsuccessful to master the transformation as Ashley passed out during both battles from exhaustion from using the form.
After losing a rematch with Sawyer, in which Greninja even failed to transform, Ashley began feeling doubtful of her ability to master the transformation. Her confidence was shaken further after brutally losing to Wulfric, the Snowbelle Gym Leader. After seeing how badly Greninja got hurt during their battle and blaming herself for the loss, a depressed Ashley left into the Winding Woods by herself. After an argument with Serena, Ashley was able to get back to her old self. She later met up with Greninja, and while trying to save a wild Spewpa, the two were able to perfect Bond Phenomenon. With Greninja's Ash-Greninja form perfected, Ashley was able to defeat Wulfric in a rematch, earning her her final Kalos Gym Badge and qualifying her for participation in the Lumiose Conference.
After returning to Lumiose City, Ashley entered the Lumiose Conference. Following several notable victories, Ashley had Goodra rejoin her team for her semi-final battle against Sawyer. After a narrow victory in, Ashley managed to defeat Sawyer and reach the finals of the Conference, marking her first appearance in the finals of a Pokemon League; where she would face Alain. On the night before the final battle, she and her friends learned more about the Ash-Greninja transformation. In the finals of the Lumiose Conference, Ashley and Alain started a back and forth battle that eventually came down to Alain's Mega Charizard X against Ashley's Greninja in its Ash-Greninja form. After a fierce battle, Greninja was defeated, causing Ashley to end up as the Runner-Up of the Lumiose Conference. Ashley showed great sincerity and principle following the battle, shaking Alain's hand regardless of the result.
Ash and her Pokemon captured by Team Flare:
During the closing ceremony of the conference, Team Flare began their final operation, using the power of the blue Zygarde Core Z2 to cause massive roots to destroy parts of Lumiose City. Ashley and her Pokémon were ultimately abducted by Team Flare and were taken captive at the top of Prism Tower, as Lysandre intended to use Ashley and Greninja's Bond Phenomenon for his plans using Team Flare's Mega Evolution energy ray to control them. After talking some sense into Alain, Ashley resisted the machine's influence and broke free using Bond Phenomenon. Ashley and Alain soon engaged in a battle against Lysandre, and ultimately managed to defeat him. When Ashley later heard about the Giant Rock, she met up with the rest to combat it. Thanks to everyone's combined effort, Chespie was saved from the Giant Rock. Squishy and Z2 ultimately destroyed the creature, before the two Zygarde left.
Following the crisis, Ashley helped Alain and Serena resolve their issues and bade farewell to her rivals. Later, after dropping Goodra off at the wetlands again, the group came across Xerosic, one of Team Flare's Scientists. Ashley, her Greninja, and her friends and the gang were ultimately able to foil Xerosic's plans and hand him over to Officer Jenny. The group soon reunited with Squishy and Z2, who requested Greninja's help to obliterate remaining negative energy left by Team Flare's crisis. Knowing this was for the sake of Kalos, she bade farewell to Greninja, before Greninja left with the two Zygarde. After releasing Greninja, Ashley and the gang headed back to Lumiose City to say their final goodbyes. After bidding farewell to Serena, who headed for Hoenn, Ashley separated from Clemont and Bonnie as well, and returned to Pallet Town.
Adventures in Alola:
Ashley traveled with Delia to the Alola region after Mimey won the trip via lottery. Ashley gave her Kalos Pokemon to Professor Oak, who gave her and her mother a Pokémon Egg to deliver to his cousin Samson. While on Melemele Island, Ashley stumbled upon the Pokemon School, where she met Lana, Lillie, Mallow, Kiawe, Sophocles, Samson, and Professor Kukui and learned about Z-Rings and Z-Moves. Later on, she met Tapu Koko, the guardian of Melemele Island, who gave Ashley a Z-Ring and an Electrium Z. With these discoveries, Ashley decided to remain in Alola to study at the school and learn more about Z-Moves, living with Professor Kukui.
Tapu Koko challenged Ash and Pikachu to a battle. Ashley's Electrium Z broke after Ashley and Pikachu used the Z-Move Gigavolt Havoc on Tapu Koko. Ashley then decided to take on the island challenge to obtain new Z-Crystals and prove her worth.
Ashley caught several Pokemon on Melemele Island, such as her Rowlet, Rockruff, and Litten. Ashley also got a Normalium Z after her fight with Totem Gumshoos on Melemele Island. Tapu Koko gave her a new Electrium Z after Ashley won her grand trial battle with Melemele Island Kahuna Hala. In addition, Ashley struck up a friendly rivalry with Lillie's brother Gladion. She then gained a Grassium Z and Rockium Z during her trial and grand trial on Akala Island.
Ashley and her classmates traveled to Kanto for an extracurricular activity. This allowed Ashley to reunite with Brock, Misty, and some of her Pokemon living at Professor Oak's Laboratory. After visiting Pallet TTTown and Professor Oak's Laboratory, they paid a visit to the Cerulean Gym, where she and Pikachu had a battle against Misty and used Gigavolt Havoc to defeat her Mega Gyarados.
Shortly after returning to Alola, Ashley was entrusted to take care of a Cosmog by Solgaleo and Lunala, which she saw in a dream. The Cosmog, nicknamed Nebby, by Lillie, took a liking to Ashley and frequently caused trouble with its ability to teleport people around. Later on, Nebby teleported Ash to Ten Carat Hill, where Ashley encountered Gladion again. There, she learned that Lillie's fear of touching was caused by a Nihilego Faba accidentally summoned from an Ultra Wormhole.
After an accident with Nebby caused Lillie's fear of touching Pokemon to resurface, Ash and Lillie traveled to Aether Paradise in order to find out how Lillie's trauma originated. Worried that Lillie regaining her memories could put him in trouble, Faba attempted to erase Lillie's memories again. Faba was defeated by Gladion's Type: Null, after it evolved into Silvally. Seeing Silvally allowed Lillie to remember how her fear of touching Pokemon began and overcome it, thus regaining the ability to touch all types of Pokemon.
Shortly after Lillie was able to touch all types of Pokemon again, Faba kidnapped Nebby while Ashley's attention was elsewhere. When Ashley and Lillie learn about this, they enlisted Gladion and Lusamine in helping them rescue it. When the four found Faba, they also found that he successfully forced Nebby to summon a Nihlego from an Ultra Wormhole. Nihilego proceeded to knock Faba away, forcing the others to battle it. Nihilego proved to be too powerful, forcing Lusamine to push Gladion out of the way to prevent him from getting captured by it; as a result, she was caught instead, allowing Nihilego to easily drag her into the Ultra Wormhole. Afterwards, Ash discovered that the incident caused Nebby to evolve into a Cosmoem.
At the Altar of the Sunne on Poni Island; Ashley, her classmates, and Gladion watched as the guardian deities helped Nebby evolve into the Legendary Pokémon Solgaleo and upgrade Ashley's Z-Ring into a Z-Power Ring. With a Solganium Z she received from Nebby, Ashley activated Solgaleo's Z-move, Searing Sunraze Smash, and had Nebby open up an Ultra Wormhole, allowing everyone to traverse through Ultra Space on Nebby's back.
Once the group was in Ultra Space, while Lillie managed to get through to her mother with a speech, the Nihilego refused to let go. After Ashley's Electrium Z temporarily transformed into a Pikashunium Z, Ashley and Pikachu used it to launch a 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt. The attack defeated Nihilego, weakening it long enough for Lillie and Gladion to pull their mother free from its hold. The Pikashunium Z reverted to an Electrium Z. With their mission finished, Lusamine was taken back through the Ultra Wormhole to the Altar of the Sunne.
During Kukui's and Burnet's wedding reception, Ash and his friends are invited to join an Ultra Beast response task force, known as the Ultra Guardians, which they all agree to.
While the group was in class one day, an alarm went off and Ashley and her classmates were invited to their first mission as the Ultra Guardians, their goal being to capture a Buzzwole that had appeared through an Ultra Wormhole. The Ultra Guardians encountered Buzzwole at Mahalo Trail, where Ashley started battling against it with Pikachu. Throughout the battle, although Pikachu was able to land a Thunderbolt, Buzzwole constantly had the upper hand. However, when Kiawe tried to join the fight, it turned out that Buzzwole actually preferred flexing to battling, so Ashley and Kiawe started flexing with it, requiring Rotom to remind Ashley that she needed to throw a Beast Ball while the Ultra Beast was distracted. As such, Ashley flung a Beast Ball at Buzzwole, successfully capturing it. Later, Buzzwole was brought to Melemele Meadow, where Professor Burnet temporarily opened a new wormhole, allowing Buzzwole to return back home.
As Ashley's time in the Pokemon School continued in addition to her trials and Grand Trials, she encountered a Poipole who seemed strangely attached to Pikachu. After a small incident in which Pikachu went missing, Rowlet was poisoned, and Team Rocket appearing (and consequently disappearing), Poipole was confirmed to be an Ultra Beast. Ashley was permitted to capture it, though she failed several times as Poipole thought the catching process was a game. After Ashley helped it understand what was really happening, Poipole allowed itself to be captured, and was allowed to stay with the group until they could find its Ultra Wormhole and send it back.
As her time in Alola continued, Ashley arrived on Ula'ula Island for her island challenge, though after being rejected by Nanu and losing an impromptu "pre-Trial", Ashley decided to stay on the island and train under Tapu Bulu. Ashley then formally participated in her island challenge after her training, which turned out to be a battle against Jessie's Mimikyu, who recently gained a Mimikium Z. Ash barely won thanks to Pikachu learning Electroweb, as well as being able to once again use 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt. After her battle with Jessie, Ashley participated in the grand trial, where she faced off against Nanu in a 3-on-1 battle in Nanu's favor, and won, earning herself a Lycanium Z.
As time went on, Ashley finally revealed her true self to her classmates. To say everyone was surprised would the biggest understatement of all time. However, the girls suspected that Ashley was a girl. Kiawe had a suspicion also, but Sophocles had no idea, so he was the most surprised. Ashley then participated in the inaugural Alola League and became the Alola League Champion at age 16 and returned home. It has been two weeks since she returned home and she has let her black dye fade and let her hair grow out to waist-length.
